In early 2012, we will be taking on the lease for a 3,000 sq ft space on the Hadrian Enterprise Park for a contemporary art space, where we will be providing a programme of events and exhibitions for all the community. In the meantime, we are still developing our Community Outreach Programme in the Old Label Store next to it.

New exhibition space

The programme will launch with an Open Submission for all artists living in Northumberland. Artists will be invited to submit one piece of work (maximum size 7ft in any one direction). Northumberland Artists living in a 10 mile radius of Haltwhistle will be invited to submit up to 3 pieces of work. The exhibition will run for one month and is free to enter. Commission taken on sales is only 20% – proceeds going to the Whistle Art Stop Outreach & Education Programme. Please email for an application form.

Throughout the year, we will have a varied and colourful programme of events including Artists in Residence; visiting and local artists; groups shows; film and animation viewings; and much more. This space will also be available to hire for special events that are visual art orientated and for local community art events. Prices start at £25 per day.

In the spring 2012, we will be adding an extra 3,000 sq ft of studio space for up to 10 graduates in Fine Art and emerging artists at the start of their Fine Art career. These studios are open plan (with partitions to divide), have amazing natural light, are very accessible and prices start at £3 per sq ft all included. The studios are five minutes walk from the railway station (local service from Carlisle to Newcastle) and close to the A69 with free parking. There is also a local bus service that stops outside the studios. If you are interested in renting a studio please contact for more information and an application form.
